Purpose
Three years ago, American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation) launched the Reimagining Nursing Initiative (Reimagining) to support nurse-led transformation in health care that improves access, care, and outcomes for all. The Foundation is now making a $2 Million opportunity available to continue the momentum gained by Reimagining as we strive towards our vision to achieve a healthy world through the power of nursing.
At the Foundation, we are committed to pushing health care forward to make it work better for everyone. Nurses are the most trusted health care professionals in the country – reshaping health care for the better. The Foundation has 10 current grantees making an impact now. As the first step in scaling, many pilots have expanded to add additional sites. We now have 54 sites, 15 of which are “replication sites,” where materials and learnings from the pilot sites are being offered as a test of scalability. This expands our reach to 31 states. With this funding opportunity, we launch our next phase of Reimagining with the goal of reaching even more grantees – ideally in every state and territory.
Expand Reimagining Nursing Initiative in Practice Settings across the Patient Journey: This request for proposals solicits grantees that can examine the areas of synergies of our Reimagining areas of focus, as well as scale and implement nurse-led solutions. With this funding opportunity, the Foundation aims to support the application of the Reimagining Nursing Initiative’s three areas of focus in specific Practice Settings. The Reimagining areas of focus are:
1. nurse graduates who are practice ready,
2. nurses reimbursed for their health care expertise, and
3. the application of nurse-driven technology. Practice settings may include a variety of settings with the patient journey in mind.
This opportunity seeks to support the application of the Reimagining focus areas in settings such as (but not limited to):
1. acute care,
2. ambulatory care,
3. community health, or
4. home health.
